Gosford Gem: Vintage Map Central Coast Print 1887

Regular price $149.00

This vintage map print presents Gosford circa 1887, capturing the township at an early moment in its development, just two years after it was formally gazetted. Centered on the waterfront settlement, the map records the emerging street layout and land divisions that defined Gosford’s initial relationship with Brisbane Water.

Produced during a formative period, the map reflects a town still taking shape, with development closely tied to the harbour’s edge rather than extensive inland expansion. Its measured scope highlights the practical concerns of a young settlement: access, allotment, and orientation to the water.

Quiet and historically grounded, this map offers a restrained record of Gosford’s beginnings. It suits interiors that value regional history, early Australian town planning, and cartography that documents place through structure and geography rather than decoration.

Fun fact: Gosford takes its name from Archibald Acheson, the 2nd Earl of Gosford, who served as Governor General of British North America — despite never setting foot in Australia.

Bathurst Time Travel: Vintage Map Print 1911

Regular price $149.00

This vintage map of Bathurst circa 1911 offers a detailed snapshot of one of Australia’s oldest inland cities at a time of confidence and growth. Carefully charting streets, rail lines and surrounding land, it presents Bathurst as a substantial regional centre well before it became synonymous with motorsport.

In the early twentieth century, Bathurst was a key hub for agriculture, education and administration in New South Wales. Its broad streets and orderly layout, clearly shown on this map, reflect the city’s importance and ambition, shaped by the gold rush decades earlier and sustained by its role as a gateway to the Central West. The map captures Bathurst before modern expansion, revealing a city defined by careful planning and strong civic identity.

Fun fact: In 1911, Mount Panorama was still farmland and bush — it wouldn’t be used as a motor racing circuit for another two decades.

Melbourne: Victorian Railways Map Print 1882

Regular price $80.00

This 1882 Victorian Railways map of Melbourne and its suburban lines captures the city at a time when rail was rapidly shaping how people lived, worked, and moved across the region. Rendered in vintage sepia tones, the map traces the growing web of railway lines extending from the city into surrounding suburbs, revealing just how central the rail network was to Melbourne’s expansion in the late nineteenth century.

Originally produced as a practical reference, the map details stations, junctions, and routes that connected emerging communities to the city centre. Many of the lines shown would go on to define suburb boundaries and commuting patterns that still exist today, making this piece as relevant as it is historical.

Fun fact: By the 1880s, Melbourne had one of the largest suburban rail networks in the world, earning it the nickname “the railway city” among visiting planners.

Balmain Timeless Tapestry Lithograph Map Print

Regular price $149.00

This vintage lithograph map of Balmain, Sydney offers a richly detailed glimpse into one of the city’s most historically layered neighbourhoods. Carefully drawn and full of period character, it captures Balmain as it was known in the nineteenth century, when its streets and shoreline were closely tied to industry, trade, and the working harbour beyond.

The map reveals Balmain’s strong maritime foundations — from shipyards and wharves to tightly packed streets that grew around them. It reflects a time when the suburb was a centre of shipbuilding and heavy industry, long before its gradual shift into the residential and cultural enclave it is today. Familiar streets sit alongside long-vanished industrial sites, illustrating how the area has continually adapted and evolved.

Printed with fine detail and a restrained, historical palette, this piece works equally well as a statement artwork or a quiet study in urban history. Ideal for Balmain locals, lovers of Sydney’s past, or collectors of vintage cartography, it’s more than decoration — it’s a thoughtful record of a suburb shaped by labour, water, and community.

Fun fact: In the late 1800s, Balmain was so heavily industrialised that it was once nicknamed “the blackened Balmain,” a reference to the coal dust and smoke that filled its air during peak shipbuilding years.

Randwick: Vintage Map Circa 1892 Print

1 review
Regular price $149.00

This circa 1892 colour map of Randwick captures the suburb at a moment when its boundaries — and its future — were still being worked out. Extending south to Coogee, the map places Randwick within the Parishes of Alexandria and Botany, using the surveying framework that defined land ownership and planning across Sydney in the late nineteenth century.

Well-known landmarks such as Centennial Park and the Randwick Racecourse are clearly shown, but it’s the areas in between that make the map especially engaging. Streets appear mid-formation, open land sits beside established routes, and coastal edges toward Coogee hint at a suburb balancing city life with access to the sea. Some roads remain familiar today, while others have shifted, disappeared, or never progressed beyond survey lines.

Printed in original period colour, the map has the quiet confidence of a working document — practical, detailed, and unconcerned with embellishment. It offers an absorbing look at

Fun fact: In the 1890s, travelling from Randwick down to Coogee often meant walking or taking a horse-drawn tram — the direct electric tram line to the beach wouldn’t arrive until the early 1900s.

Avoca & Central Coast Locality Plan, 1950s Print

Regular price $149.00

The 1950s Avoca Locality Plan captures Avoca and its surrounding Central Coast region at a moment when the area was beginning to develop as both a residential and recreational destination. The map spans from Gosford to Broken Bay, including Tuggerah Lake, nearby waterways, roads, and emerging townships, offering a detailed view of the landscape, coastlines, and connections that shaped the region.

Designed with mid-century clarity, the plan highlights the relationship between land and water — the river systems, lakes, and coastline — showing how communities were laid out in harmony with the natural environment. Roads linking Avoca to neighboring towns, holiday cottages along the foreshore, and early subdivision patterns reveal a region on the cusp of growth, long before modern urban sprawl.

More than a map, it’s a historical snapshot: a record of how Melburnians and Sydneysiders might have explored the Central Coast, or how locals planned settlements, farms, and access to the bays, lakes, and beaches that define the area today.

Fun Fact: Tuggerah Lake, shown on the map, was once a hub for small-scale fishing and boating, connecting coastal communities long before the highway system made travel to Sydney or Newcastle easier.

Redcliffe Foreshore Vintage Map Print Circa 1800's

No reviews
Regular price $149.00

This vintage map print presents the Plan of the Township of Sutton, Redcliff Point — a focused coastal survey of what is now Redcliffe, Queensland. The map documents the foreshore edge and a small number of inland blocks, extending only as far as present-day John Street, reflecting an early emphasis on shoreline access rather than full township coverage.

Undated and attributed to R.S. Hews & Co, the plan captures Redcliff Point at a formative stage, when the settlement was still being defined through its relationship with the bay. The limited scope gives the map its character: a measured strip of coastline, surveyed with intent, before inland expansion reshaped the peninsula.

The township name Sutton — later abandoned — marks a brief chapter in Redcliffe’s naming history, making this map an especially compelling record of a place mid-transition. Quiet and spatially specific, it suits interiors that value history, restraint, and maps that speak through geography rather than ornament.

Port Douglas Vintage Map Plan Print 1878

No reviews
Regular price $149.00

This 1878 vintage map captures the Township of Port Douglas in its earliest form, tracing the general layout and structure of the town rather than individual street names. Shaped by the nearby coast and river inlets, the map shows the pattern of the settlement as it emerged to support the surrounding goldfields and timber industries.

It’s a striking visual record of Port Douglas before it grew into the iconic holiday destination it is today. Perfect for collectors, Queensland history enthusiasts, or anyone drawn to tropical coastal landscapes, this print combines historical intrigue with design appeal, making it a standout addition to any wall or gallery.

Fun Fact:
When this map was created in 1878, Port Douglas had only recently been founded. Its orderly street layout was planned to accommodate future growth, yet much of the surrounding land remained untouched rainforest and wetlands — a dramatic contrast to the bustling town of today.

Noosa Vintage District Map Print 1922

No reviews
Regular price $149.00

Noosa in 1922 was a quiet coastal gem — a cluster of small settlements along the winding Noosa River, fringed by bushland and lagoons. This vintage map print captures the town’s early layout, from the river bends that shaped daily life to the undeveloped coastline that would later define the Sunshine Coast as a beloved holiday destination.

Perfect for collectors, coastal enthusiasts, or anyone drawn to Queensland’s history, this print celebrates Noosa’s natural beauty and its transformation from riverside settlements to the iconic Sunshine Coast we know today. Hung on a wall, it’s more than a map — it’s a story, a conversation starter, and a visual connection to a time long past.

Fun Fact:
The Noosa River was once a hub for the timber industry, with logs floated downstream to the ocean. Today, it’s a serene backdrop to one of Australia’s most picturesque coastal towns.

Mackay Vintage District Map Print 1882

No reviews
Regular price $149.00

This 1882 map of Mackay and the then known as South Kennedy District captures North Queensland at a moment when the region was still being shaped on paper as much as on the ground. Created during a period of early settlement and agricultural ambition, the map documents how Mackay was laid out before the city fully emerged.

The Pioneer River threads through the composition, surrounded by early land divisions and township markings that reveal the practical thinking of 19th-century surveyors. There’s a quiet confidence to the layout — purposeful, restrained, and unexpectedly graphic — making it as compelling visually as it is historically.

Today, the map reads less like an artifact and more like a considered design object. It brings a sense of place without nostalgia, working effortlessly in modern interiors while still carrying the weight of regional history. A strong piece for collectors, designers, or anyone with ties to coastal or regional Queensland.

Fun Fact: Before Mackay became synonymous with sugar, the region was promoted as a multi-purpose agricultural frontier. Maps like this were central to that pitch, carefully presenting rivers, land parcels, and access routes to suggest opportunity long before infrastructure caught up

Regular price $149.00

Uncover a piece of history with this 1901 map of Brisbane Waters, showcasing the early contours of Gosford, Kincumber, Broken Bay and the iconic NSW coastline. This isn’t just a map — it’s a piece of art that tells a story of how the Central Coast began to take shape. From the meandering waterways to the scattered townships, it reveals the original lines of a landscape that’s now a bustling, modern destination.

The details are striking: coastal inlets, early roads, and the unmistakable patterns of nature, all captured in intricate, hand-drawn lines. What makes this map truly special is its ability to anchor your space in both history and design. It’s a nod to the region's past, but also a statement piece that blends effortlessly with modern interiors.

For lovers of both cartography and coastal lifestyle, this print offers something different — a visual conversation starter that evokes both nostalgia and a forward-thinking appreciation of the land.

Fun fact: Kincumber, now known for its easy access to the beach, was originally famous for its dense swamps? The area, once home to thick wetlands, was a favourite spot for local birdwatchers back in the early 1900s.

A Harmonious Duo of Modernist Elegance

A quietly powerful pairing from modernist master Paul Klee, selected for their tonal depth and rhythmic harmony.

Flourishing (1939) pulses with organic movement — a composition alive with gestural form, rich colour, and a sense of unfolding energy. In contrast, Landscape with Poplars (1929) offers calm and clarity: horizontal bands of muted tone layered with stylised poplars, delicately arranged in space. Together, they strike a compelling balance between motion and stillness.

Their shared palette — terracotta, sage, dusty blush, and warm neutrals — creates a visual dialogue that feels both intentional and effortless. This duo lends itself to interiors where art is curated for mood, not just decoration.

Perfect for living rooms, hallways, or creative spaces that favour restraint over noise.

Coburg: Historic Township Map Print 1967

Regular price $149.00

Step into the layered legacy of Melbourne’s north with this beautifully restored 1967 township map of Coburg.

This isn’t just a map — it’s a portal into the gritty, fascinating past of a suburb shaped by stone and stories. In the late 1800s, Coburg was known less for its cafes and more for its quarries — 41 of them to be exact — as bluestone paved the city’s streets and built its future. But Coburg's industrial roots run deeper than stone alone.

In 1850, the imposing HM Prison Pentridge opened its gates, etching Coburg into Victoria’s darker folklore. Prisoners, sentenced to “hard labour,” smashed through the very rocks that built Melbourne, and in doing so, helped shape the suburb's distinctive edge.

This archival map print from 1967 captures Coburg at a pivotal moment — after it had shed its old identity and officially adopted the name "Coburg" in 1870, embracing a new era. It's a visual time capsule, showing a community in transition: still tough, still proud, but already changing.

Camberwell: Historic Real Estate Print

Regular price $149.00

This historic Riversdale Estate land subdivision and real estate auction print offers a snapshot of Camberwell at a pivotal moment in its development during the late nineteenth century. Produced as part of an original land sale campaign, it illustrates early allotments, streets, and boundaries that helped shape the suburb as it transitioned from semi-rural holdings into a planned residential area.

Created to promote opportunity and growth, the print reflects the optimism of the era — when Melbourne was expanding rapidly and Camberwell was emerging as a desirable place to settle. Fine detailing and period typography reveal how developers envisioned the suburb’s future, while also preserving the character of a landscape that was only just beginning to take on its modern form.

Printed on premium archival paper using fade-resistant inks, this piece is both decorative and deeply historical. It’s a thoughtful addition for those with a connection to Camberwell, an interest in Melbourne’s suburban evolution, or an appreciation for authentic nineteenth-century cartographic and real estate ephemera.

Fun fact: Camberwell’s growth accelerated soon after the railway arrived in 1882 — many estates like Riversdale were marketed specifically to buyers eager to live within commuting distance of Melbourne’s city centre.
