ADELAIDE: Historic Plan of the City Map 1895 Print

Regular price $148.00

Step into Adelaide’s past with this stunning 1895 map of Adelaide, originally drafted by Frearsons. This beautifully detailed historical map offers a rare glimpse into the city as it was over a century ago—before the hustle and bustle of modern life, when Adelaide’s streets were just beginning to take shape.

Adelaide was planned as a “free settlement” in 1836, with a design that prioritized wide streets, parks, and public squares—a visionary layout for a city that would eventually become known for its green spaces and relaxed, open atmosphere.

Printed from the original 1895 plan, this map showcases the city’s early layout, including key streets, parks, and landmarks that have helped define Adelaide’s history. Frearsons, the renowned cartographic firm behind this design, captured the essence of the city’s architectural beginnings, giving us a detailed snapshot of a time when Adelaide was evolving into the vibrant city we know today.
